A plug for Indexing

I was glad to be able to indexing, and contribute to the source that helps so many people search for their ancestors. It was a neat experience to be able to try and decipher the names, that were so unfamilair to me, and to have the Lord help me know what they were as I sought His help. I loved being able to learn something about these people and their lives, about how their land of origin, when they came to america and the family that they had with them when they came. This program really helps those who are searching for their ancestors, to be able to find them on the internet.

Brief History

Utah was made a state in 1896. Previously it was a territory for 50 years.

Fillmore is located in central Utah, midway between Salt lake and St. George. Fillmore was named after president Millard Fillmore in 1851 by Brigham Young. For a little while it was the territorial capital the oldest government building still stands there today. (http://www.fillmorecity.org). It has passed through many different industries, the people have farmed, ranched, grown alfalfa, mined, and now bur coal generating power now purchased by southern California. (

1920 Census Rasmussen Family

Search begins

As I searched for my ancestor William Hans Rasmussen I was able to find much more than before on the websites suggested for the assignment. In searching roots web I found his L.D.S. baptism and endowment dates. This was a great finding and now I am just looking for the place of baptism and the temple. I also was able to find more information on William’s family by searching on Google. I found the website http://www.penrose.org/familygroup.php?familyID=F41117&tree=penrose which has the family birth and death information on his parent’s family. It was great to find this information and be able to see his brothers and sisters information.
